Golden Light in the Garden This Afternoon

As the sun sank lower in the western skies, the soft afternoon light  meant I didn't need to go further than the back garden to enjoy taking a shot or two.

Playing With Light

The late afternoon light in John's garden was enough to get me up from relaxing with cup of tea to experiment with some B&W shots.

Freo Fast Track

One of the eye catching bus shelters in Fremantle. Certainly a shelter with a difference.

Looking North from Floreat Beach to Scarborough

Whether it is winter or summer, we have such beautiful beaches to come to in Perth. Whilst at Floreat Beach on Friday, I could not resist playing with my settings to capture this B&W shot.

At Floreat Beach for the Winter Solstice

It's good to have the internet up again! And equally as good has been the winter weather over the last few days and none more so than on the Winter Solstice on Friday. Now for the joy of the hours of sunlight becoming increasingly longer.

Looking Towards Freshwater Bay

Driving north from Fremantle, it was well worth diverting from my usual coastal route to the Swan River today for this magnificent view.

Perry Lakes in Monochrome

Once a water filled lake but still an interesting place amongst wonderful parklands.

Keeping Warm

Fascinating to see the cattle coming closer and closer to the heat of the log burning fire.

Beautiful Country

Even before we had the vineyard at Nannup, when we went down south for holidays, I loved visiting this area in the South West. It is quite simply beautiful country.

It Will Soon be Time to Prune.

Whilst the hill here looks to have a gentle slope walking up and down it a few times is certainly testing on the knees and  legs.

With the leaves turning and falling from the vines, it will soon be time to get back into the vineyard and start the rows and rows of pruning. As a small family run vineyard the only way is to prune the six thousand vines is by hand. It's quite a job!

Clearing Up after the Storms

With winter upon us, it is now time to clear up around the farm after recent storms. So it was down south to our vineyard Red Gully Wines at Nannup.

It was not until we were some distance from home that I realised that I had left my laptop computer at home. Hence the week of silence!

Nevertheless, I was kept occupied with catching up on the work that needed to be done and of course there was always time to relax and take photos. I look forward to sharing these with you over the next few days.
