Skate Boarding in Cantonment Street

There is lots to see in the murals on this old building in Cantonment Street Fremantle as well as plenty of action from skate boarders over the weekend.

This is my contribution to Mural Monday.

  1. The paintings are real good. More a color composition then an real picture but they jumps of the wall.

  2. Great shot, love the movement from the guy on his skateboard. I am also a big fan of these kind of walls, there is so much to see! Great find.

  3. Very colorful display, but I doubt that any of them were commissioned pieces of art. They look more like graffiti than murals.

  4. Some good work there mixed in with all the old poster remains and tags.

  5. The murals are great, but the moving skateboarder makes it a fantastic shot!

  6. The mural on the left looks very much like a quilt pattern called "Sunshine and Shadow." The one on the right uses color stripes in a way that reminds me of Vasarely. All the tagging and paste ups for me do not detract from the more formal compositions. It's all street art; some more sophisticated than others. Hope you keep your eye on this area to see what else appears. In the meantime, thanks for participating in Monday Mural.

  7. Thank you for your comments everyone. I have previously not stopped to really have a look at all the artwork, tagging and posters on the this building in Fremantle so intend to take some time shortly to have a look at the range of artwork. Look forward to bringing it to you over Mural Monday.
