Main Coast 111. Rockport

So many of the paintings that I have seen of this area from American artists have shown not only the Maine coastline and coastal buildings but have been studies of the lives of the fisherman. With lobster almost being a standard food delight here - steamed, stuffed, baked, bisque, rolls - it seemed appropriate to post a photo of a lobster boat just coming back into port. This pic was taken at Rockport where we stopped for a brief time for lunch and sat looking out to sea watching the boats come into port on this wonderfully calm day.

Next stop Salem.

Many thanks for your comments during my journey. I have not had time to reply but am reading them all and very much appreciate your generous feedback.
