At MOMA

Today I stayed in the Midtown area partly because I was unsure when jet lag would "hit" - which it did but fortunately not until I returned to the hotel weary from a day's walking in the Big Apple - and partly because there is so much to see in this neighbourhood.

The Museum of Modern Art is an easy walk from where I am staying. The installation Sum of Days by Brazilian artist Carlito Carvalhosa is a network of fabric that creates amazing spaces and interesting pathways to walk between whilst listening to ambient sounds that have been recorded by microphones dotted throughout the work. Each day's recordings are combined with those from the previous day creating a layering of time and of everyday experiences - Sum of Days.
