Liza's Salute to Cadel Evans

While Liza commemorates where Crawley Baths used to be on the Swan River, the statue also takes on a life of her own, often making commentary on the latest news and fashion. This time enterprising cycling fans have gone to the effort of dressing Liza in Australia's gold and given her a Repco Spectra bike to hold that has some BMC red on it.

Dressed in such garb, it certainly makes driving along Mounts Bay Road interesting - you never know what Liza will be wearing - and a few keen motorists acknowledge her style by honking their car horns as they drive by. Needless to say it brightens a grey day and makes for great fun when out there taking a snap or two.

This is probably one of Liza's more elaborate dress ups and in case you are wondering, the statue is not close enought to shore to get to easily.

  5. Haha! Snap Rae, I noticed for the first time yesterday that she's not that close to the shore, would like to snap them 'at it' to see how they go about it.

  6. I just saw this on the "other" Perth blog. I think it is a fitting way to celebrate your countryman's win of the Tour. Love these community jokes!
