Laneways 1

In Perth City laneways are now being explored for the full potential and diversity of this environment. I love laneways, laneway artwork and the grunge.

Last week after postiing a laneway photo I had intended to get back with more. Well here is a start. This photo was taken from the Murray Street Mall looking towards Wellington Street.

  2. Hi Rae - laneways, artwork and grunge - you have captured it all. I must go looking for laneways here in Adelaide!

  3. I don't think of Perth as being grungy like Sydney - but it is! There is a certain quality of 'naughtiness' that comes o'er when sneakng down a lane-way.

What is that lad doing with his hoodie up like that? This is Perth, lad. The city of constant sunshine!

  4. He does look a little bit 'suss' Rae, hahaha! poor guy probably just getting from A to B. Great perspective, I will have to remember to check it out next time I'm in the city. Looking forward to the next one Rae.

  5. The guy in the hoodie does evoke a certain sense of menace. As Grace says, entirely unfair on him, but it's interesting how that's perceived. I miss laneways and street art!

  7. An interesting street. For my taste a lot of grip. It has a special mood. Beautiful graffiti, you are like me. Peter.

  8. Up until recently the potential of lane ways has not been explored in Perth. But now there is a real interest in these areas as a part of creating a more vibrant cityscape which includes art spaces. This was a great lane way to explore (if you know the city, it's just east of Myer in Murray Street) and we spent quite a while here exploring. This photo was taken just as we were leaving. By the way, the guy in the hood did look a bit out of place especially as the day was warmish. Still, each to his own.
