A Favourite Garden Revisited

Many delightful Sundays have been spent in this interesting and beautiful Hawker's Hill garden beside Lake Goollelal in Kingsley. Peacocks would strut by while we turned our attention to painting models dotted through the gardens or by the lake.

It was wonderful to revisit Hawker's Hill today to enjoy again the company of friends and share many special memories.

  1. These colorful peacocks really do enhance any garden... especially during this time of year for you. Wonderful photo.

    Enjoy the day.

  2. Thanks Ken and Luis. As you can see though with the amount of dried leaves in the photo, we still need more rain. The lake is about half a metre below where it used to be. Pity.

  4. There is something very regal about peacocks. No doubt it's their colour but I think it's also the way they strut. Wonderful photo.

  5. Like you Joe, I find these birds just amazing in the presence they create as they move about.
This is a beautiful property Grace where I have had many happy hours.

  6. What do you mean 'painting models'?

  7. We used to have life drawing/painting workshops in the garden here Julie. Two or three models would be dotted throughout the garden that is on about 12 acres I think. So we would wander through and find a location we liked, pull up an easel and maybe a stool and create our art with oils, watercolour or acrylic paints. A wonderful way to spend a day.
