About to Take a Plunge

While I enjoy an early morning walk, a swim in mid winter - no way! I do admire those who take to the water but for me, it's the comfort of the beach cafe and a morning coffee.

  2. It's probably way too cold for a swim... he must want to go in there badly! ;-)

  3. You and me both Rae, it probably doesn't look that cold to readers in Europe, but it's chilly enough!! Great shot of a brave man .!!

  5. I'm with you Rae. The untold story is that this guy is only 22 - see what extreme swimming does to you?
You captured the winter grey and cold really well.

  6. Shouldn't he have a wetsuit on! Looks way too nippy for a dip.

  7. Joe, I can only agree with you about wet suits. I had a look at the water temp Steffe - found a web site with all this information for Cottesloe beach - I' m sure it said about 19 C which seems not so bad especially as there is not much wind at the moment. Still, I'm not going swimming though! rae

  8. Great capture with this swimming atmosphere. this man does look like a regular swimmer.
Your winter swimmers are our german summer swimmers. With 19 degree C we are happy here.

  10. Carola, thanks for visiting. Thought that this would be "warm" for some people. We are quite spoilt here.

Alan, a friend who is a winter swimmer said never mind about the water temperature, it's the stingers at some beaches that get to him!

  11. The water looks a bit murky, like the weather had been wild and stirring it all up. Their inner age probably explains why older blokes hang out for younger chicks!!
