Eliza

The larger that life bronze statue, Eliza commemorates where the Crawley Baths used to be on the Swan River. Eliza has taken on a life of her own. The birds like her but so do some dedicated people who fashion dress her from time to time. She looked resplendent for the Royal Wedding! It certainly makes driving along Riverside Drive in Crawley all that more interesting.

  1. Excellent picture Rae, I drove past there on Wednesday and almost stopped, would love to see some of the outfits they dress her in.

  4. Yes, it is this sort of skylarking that can really make an area. It is a lovely shot of her that you have for us today. Let us know when she is next outfitted ..

  5. I have been waiting to capture Eliza in her "garb", but all has been quiet lately. As matter of fact, her Royal Wedding outfit had disappeared by early morning the day after the event. I look forward to bringing you a fashion update when she next appears here!

  6. Such a great photo, Rae. Do they have to swim/boat out to her? Or is it shallow enough to wade? Looking forward to seeing her grace your blog in fancy dress some day soon.
